Playa Estrella
Your first stop is at the famous Playa Estrella, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and the abundance of vibrant starfish that dot its sandy shores. Take a swim in the calm, shallow waters or simply relax on the beach, enjoying the serene atmosphere. This is an ideal spot for taking photos of the beautiful sea creatures, though remember not to touch the starfish to preserve their delicate ecosystem.
Isla Pájaro
Next, head to Isla Pájaro, also known as Bird Island, a sanctuary for a variety of bird species, including the rare red-billed tropicbird. This small rocky island is a birdwatcher’s paradise, offering an excellent opportunity to observe seabirds in their natural habitat. You’ll get a chance to spot several species nesting on the cliffs, with the dramatic coastal landscape providing a stunning backdrop for your visit.
Punta Hospital
Punta Hospital, on Isla Solarte, is a peaceful stop rich in history and natural beauty. Once the site of a 19th-century hospital treating United Fruit Company workers for diseases like yellow fever and malaria, it played a key role in the region’s development. Today, the hospital’s remnants, overtaken by jungle, offer a glimpse into Bocas del Toro’s colonial past. The calm, clear waters make it perfect for snorkeling and swimming, while the surrounding mangroves and tropical wildlife create a serene, secluded atmosphere.
La Piscina
La Piscina Beach, located in Bocas del Toro, Panama, is a stunning destination known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and vibrant coral reefs. This idyllic spot features soft white sands and is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, La Piscina offers a serene escape, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists seeking natural beauty and tranquility.
