HIKING TOUR
The Pangea Experience seamlessly blends the Caribbean Sea and the lush rainforest into one unforgettable half-day journey. Traveling in a boat assigned specifically to your group size, you will first cruise Dolphin Bay to spot our unique, non-migrating population of bottlenose dolphins nursing in the calm mangroves.
Stepping ashore, you will embark on the Wonderland Trails guided hike. Hidden in the "Darklands" of Tierra Oscura, this immersive trek takes you through a raw, lush lowland rainforest that feels miles away from any manicured park, serving as a prime example of a thriving tropical ecosystem. Deep within this private reserve, you can track specific, brilliant morphs of the Strawberry Poison-Dart Frog across the forest floor and spot Three-Toed Sloths moving slowly through the canopy. The trail also highlights fascinating evolutionary adaptations—including "Walking Palms" that shift toward sunlight, bright red "Hot Lips" flowers, and the symbiotic defense system between Cecropia trees and Azteca ants—all while the distinct call of Keel-Billed Toucans echoes overhead.
The adventure concludes back on the water with a refreshing snorkeling session and an authentic local lunch. The tour includes your customized boat transport, reserve entrances, the complete guided hike, assorted drinks, snorkel wear, and lunch.
Our forest in the Darklands of Bocas del Toro is more than just a place of harvest; it is a thriving wildlife haven. The same canopy that shades our ancient cacao trees provides a vital home for kinkajous, sloths, and vibrant birds like trogons and owls. When you walk through our forest, you are stepping into a living ecosystem where every tree plays a role in the delicate balance of the jungle.

The Pangea Experience takes you on a journey that seamlessly combines the magic of the ocean and the lush jungle. On our way to an immersive jungle trek, we navigate the waters of Dolphin Bay, where we might meet the unique Bocas del Toro bottlenose dolphins. This isolated community of around 80 to 100 dolphins has evolved in a fascinating way; they do not migrate to other areas, nor do they accept outside dolphins into their territory. Over time, they have adapted biologically to the calm mangrove waters, which provide a perfect, protected nursery for their calves.
Upon arriving in the "Darklands" of Tierra Oscura, you will embark on the Wonderland Trails guided hike and step into a thriving rainforest ecosystem. During this raw, lowland rainforest experience, you will have the chance to explore the living canopy and spot the incredible wildlife that calls this jungle home. Keep an eye out for hummingbirds darting through the foliage, intricate spiders weaving between the branches, and differently colored morphs of the poison-dart frog resting in the undergrowth. Above, howler monkeys traverse the treetops while the distinct call of colorful toucans echoes through the ancient jungle. After exploring the forest trail, we will head back out for a snorkeling session to cool off, perfectly capped off with an authentic local lunch experience.
Hiking The Darklands

Nestled in the "Darklands" of Tierra Oscura in Bocas del Toro, Wonderland Trails offers an immersive chance to explore 44 acres of private Caribbean jungle. A network of trails for all ages winds alongside hidden streams and beneath a majestic canopy of towering trees, inviting you to slow down and connect with nature.
Look and listen carefully as you navigate the raw landscape. You may spot sloths resting high in the canopy, differently colored morphs of poison dart frogs hidden among the leaves, or intricate spiders weaving between the branches. Above, the calls of howler monkeys, colorful toucans, and Montezuma oropendolas echo through the forest. Yet, some of the most memorable sights are often the smallest—a remarkable tropical fungus, an unusual insect, or vibrant medicinal plants.
We named it "Wonderland" because around every bend, the ordinary becomes extraordinary when you take the time to look closely. No two visits are ever the same, and we hope every guest leaves with a deeper appreciation for nature's hidden wonders.

Our crew will welcome you aboard at the Pangea Hub. Settle in as we begin our half-day expedition, cruising out across the Caribbean toward the Darklands of Tierra Oscura.
WONDERLAND TRAILS HIKE
Step ashore for an immersive, guided trek through 44 acres of private, thriving lowland rainforest. Navigate the raw jungle landscape beneath towering canopies, tracking brilliant poison dart frogs and keeping an eye out for sloths, monkeys, and tropical birds in their natural habitat.
SNORKELING & LOCAL LUNCH
After exploring the jungle trails, we head back out to the water for a refreshing snorkeling session, perfectly capped off with a delicious, authentic local lunch.
RETURN TO PANGEA HUB
Relax and enjoy the scenic boat ride as we navigate back to Bocas Town after an unforgettable day in the jungle and sea.
